Welcome to Horndean and District u3a

Welcome to our website where you will find details about who we are and what we do, including our Interest Groups and monthly meetings.
If you would like to learn more about us and decide if you would like to join, come to one of our monthly meetings where you will be welcomed by a member of the Committee who can provide any further information.
Who We Are
Horndean and District u3a was set up in May 2008 and we currently have about 200 members. We are part of the u3a movement which aims to encourage people who are no longer in full-time work to come together and continue their enjoyment of learning by participating in activities of interest to them.
Our Meetings
We hold our regular meetings on the first Friday of each month at 2pm in Merchistoun Hall, Portsmouth Road, Horndean.
Details of forthcoming meetings and speakers along with information about any trips or other planned activities are shown on the Events page.

Details of previous meetings can also be found on the Events page by clicking on the green link at the top-right of that page.
Our Interest Groups
We currently have 26 Interest Groups covering a range of subjects and activities. Details about any of the Groups can be found by clicking on the Group's name in the list on the Interest Groups page.
For more information about a Group or to enquire about joining, please contact the convenor by clicking on their name at the top of their Group’s page. If a Group is full, you can be put on a waiting list for when space is available or a new Group is set up.
Other Information
Local organisations, events and activities that you may find of interest can be found on the Activities tab.
Other u3as and their events both locally or further afield can be identified and contacted through the South East Region and South West Region websites.
Please send any comments about anything on this website or suggestions for items to be included to the Webmaster using the link at the foot of this page so that the site can be kept up to date and any errors or omissions rectified.
